How We Work

Our Process
& Warranty

Clear steps. Transparent pricing. No surprises.

Renovating a bathroom is a serious investment. Our process is designed to keep everything organized, predictable, and stress-free — from the first consultation to the final walkthrough.

The Process

5 Steps, No Surprises

01

Free In-Home Consultation

We visit your home to evaluate the existing bathroom and discuss your goals.

  • We come prepared — bringing tile samples, Schluter profile options, and niche design ideas so you can see and feel the possibilities right away.
  • We review layout and dimensions, plumbing locations, structural conditions, and any issues that could affect the project.
  • We walk through your design preferences, inspiration photos, and material direction together.
  • Every question about timeline, budget, and process gets answered on the spot.
  • The consultation is focused on understanding your vision and helping you determine the best path forward.
02

On-Site Project Estimate

We prepare your estimate the same day — typically within 2 hours of the consultation.

  • The written estimate outlines the full scope of renovation, itemized labor costs, optional design or material selection assistance, and expected project timeline.
  • Getting you a clear number quickly matters to us. The faster you have accurate information, the easier it is to make a confident decision.
  • Nothing is vague. If tile is included, we specify type and size. If a fixture is included, it is named or described.
  • You can review the estimate, ask questions, and compare before making any commitment.
  • If the estimate fits your expectations, we move into project planning.
03

Planning Agreement & Deposit

Once the estimate is approved, we formalize the project with a Planning Agreement.

  • This step includes detailed measurements, layout confirmation, tile and fixture selections, and preparation of the final scope of work.
  • We assist with material selection — tile, profiles, niches, vanity, fixtures — to ensure every choice fits your style and budget.
  • A planning deposit of $750–$1,500 is collected at signing and applied toward your project total.
  • This deposit confirms your project and allows us to begin procurement and scheduling.
  • At the end of this phase, we prepare the final construction agreement with a full breakdown of costs and timeline.
04

Construction

With the agreement signed and materials confirmed, construction begins on schedule.

  • Day 1 is demolition — everything down to the studs in wet areas. Debris is removed the same day.
  • Waterproofing is installed before any tile goes up. We use Schluter KERDI membrane or Wedi board systems, and perform a flood test before tiling begins.
  • Tile installation follows a planned layout — we dry-run the pattern before any adhesive is applied.
  • Fixtures, vanity, lighting, and ventilation are installed after tile is grouted and fully cured.
  • The workspace is cleaned at the end of every day. No unauthorized changes are made — everything goes through you first.
  • You receive regular progress updates throughout the project.
05

Final Walkthrough & 3-Year Warranty

After construction, we review every detail of the project together.

  • We inspect tile alignment, grout lines, caulk and sealant joints, plumbing fixture function, and lighting and ventilation operation.
  • Any final adjustments are completed before the project is considered finished — we do not leave until you are satisfied.
  • You receive a written 3-year workmanship warranty covering defects in installation.
  • Complete project documentation is delivered: warranty terms, installed product list, and maintenance recommendations.
  • We remain available for any questions or concerns after completion.

Our Standard

Waterproofing First — Always

The most common reason bathrooms fail — mold, cracked tile, structural damage — is inadequate waterproofing. Many contractors skip or cut corners on this invisible step because customers never see it.

We use Schluter KERDI bonded waterproof membrane or Wedi board systems on every shower and wet area. These are the same systems specified in commercial construction and high-end residential projects throughout New Jersey.

Before any tile goes up, we perform a flood test — the shower pan is filled with water and left for 24 hours. The test is documented. Only after passing the flood test does tile installation begin. This is not optional. It is our standard on every project.

Warranty & Policies

What We Stand Behind

Every detail is documented in your signed contract. No vague promises. No verbal guarantees that disappear after the check clears.

3-Year Workmanship Warranty

ComfortGarant provides a written 3-year workmanship warranty on all bathroom remodeling projects. This covers defects in installation — tile failures, grout cracking, fixture leaks caused by improper installation, and waterproofing failures. Warranty terms are documented in your signed contract.

Waterproofing Guarantee

Every shower we build is waterproofed with Schluter KERDI or Wedi systems and flood-tested before tile installation. If a waterproofing failure occurs due to our installation within the warranty period, we remediate it at no cost.

Manufacturer Warranties

Tile, fixtures, vanities, and other materials carry their own manufacturer warranties. We provide documentation of all installed products so you can register warranties where applicable. Manufacturer warranties are separate from our workmanship warranty.

What Is Not Covered

Workmanship warranties do not cover normal wear and tear, damage from improper cleaning products, water damage from homeowner-caused leaks at fixtures, or modifications made to our work by third parties after project completion.

Change Order Policy

Any changes to the agreed scope of work require a signed written change order before work proceeds. Change orders include the cost and timeline impact of the requested change. No surprise charges — ever.

Payment Structure

Payments are structured in milestones outlined in your written contract. A planning deposit is collected at agreement signing, a progress payment at demolition and waterproofing completion, and a final payment at project completion. We never ask for full payment upfront.
